Every journey begins with the first step. If you want to create a video game and give it a good chance of making it to the finish line, you should start with Writing a Game Design Document. PETAL et al. and the Chicago Game Developers Group will be offering a free workshop to get you started. Laptops are optional, but do bring paper and pencils.
