Indie Startup Academy: Our Hands-On Project-Based Boot Camps & Training

Immersive learning simulating real world situations…

PETAL et al. prepares its students to work professionally in the video game (includes Machinima), animation and interactive media (i.e. motion comics, mobile applications, VR and AI.) industry by providing project-based based learning that includes hands-on experience to acquire and develop the skills they need to work in the video game, animation or interactive media industry. Our instructors are experienced professionals working or that have worked in the area of their presentations.

Project-Based, Hands-on Courses Teach Team Work

PETAL et al. students will be taught the latest industry standard, free to use and open-source software and tools to create video games, animation, mobile apps and interactive media, including VR and AI. Class sizes are limited to 6-12 students (18 for exploratory workshops open to the public) depending on content and resources available to ensure students get the attention they need during their learning experience.

Project-Based Boot-Camp Training (TBA)

(Aptitude Testing to Enter this Program)

Four months during the summer, Monday through Friday from 11 to 7 p.m., project-based/team-oriented and hands-on learning will take place. Students will be instructed and guided by professionals to complete a professional high-quality assignment. No boot camp is ever the same.

PETAL et al. has interviewed video game, animation and interactive media professionals and found that an outstanding professionally done demo reel/portfolio is what stands out, not necessarily formal education.
