Michele McMillan

Teaching game design

Michele McMillan is a Professional Consultant in Computer Design, Project Management, SharePoint, Web Site Development, Video Game and Sound Designing.

A graduate of the i.c.stars program, McMillan has spent several years specializing in SharePoint migration, and support and integration with Microsoft Technologies. She has a vast knowledge of new technologies and innovative solutions.

McMillan served as an Associate Consultant at Pointbridge where she was involved with SharePoint development, Drupal, SQL Server, among other things. She has worked with CSS,  HTML, PHP, C#.Net, XML, SQL, ActionScript, DreamWeaver, Visual Studio.Net, MS SharePoint,  Drupal, SQL Server Management Studio, Fireworks, Freehand, Flash, Quark, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite (includes Premiere), AVID, PVOM, Final Cut Pro, Mac, PC, Multiple CMS Experience, and Fast Learner/Critical Thinker.

During her career tenure, McMillan served as Executive Director of Hiyaha Records. In this position she booked musicians and DJs all over the city of Chicago; designed promotional materials; planned and managed shows; and was responsible for website blogging/maintenance and updates.

She served as a Web Developer at Littelfuse where she implemented Information Architecture, Branding SharePoint Intranet & Extranets; designed custom Workflows and Web parts for SharePoint; provided design for Global Data Warehouse; provided technical support for multiple business units (SharePoint, Net, SQL); issued Tracking and Various administrative duties for Net Team; implemented branding of LittelfuseBusinessCenter.com (not design); and created Administrator Training Materials for Multiple Systems.

McMillan was an Instructor at Mad Science, where she taught k-5th Grade Science.  She was a researcher for Harold Washington/Hope; a Web Designer for Eulalio Fabie De Silva where she designed internet web sites and web pages for business and personal applications, and responded to written and telephone requests by clients that used HTML and JavaScript to design web pages.

As Editor/Technical Director/Camera Operator for BlueLight Entertainment, McMillan produced audiovisual materials for communication and learning; developed production ideas based on assignment; set-up, adjusted and operated cameras, sound mixers and recorders during production, and did Post Production editing.

The Chicago native volunteers at local non-profits and small business start-ups by providing graphic design, web design, and art donations. She is also a musician and manages hiyaha.com, an online radio station which books and promotes local musicians, as well as provide studio time and music production for those who cannot afford it.
